Units Scale
  • 1 lb Raw Shrimp (if you are using cooked shrimp see notes below)
  • 1 Tbs Sea Salt
  • 3 Large Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 cup Red Onion chopped
  • 1 cup Cucumber chopped
  • 2 Celery stalks chopped
  • 1 Jalapeno finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup
  • Juice from 1 Lime
  • 1 Tbs Tabasco or more per your spice level
  • 1 Avocado chopped

  1. Peel and devein the Shrimp
  2. Bring a medium pot with water to a boil
  3. Add 1 Tbs Sea Salt and the Shrimp
  4. Cook 2-3 minutes or until Shrimp are cooked through, reserve 1 cup of the water and let it come to room temperature
  5. Remove the Shrimp and let cool, then chop into pieces
  6. In a medium bowl add Tomatoes, Red Onion, Cucumber, Celery, Jalapeño, Cilantro, Ketchup, Lime Juice, Tabasco and Shrimp
  7. Mix and add some of the Shrimp water a little bit at a time to desired consistency, I used around 1/4 cup
  8. Taste and add more Tabasco if you like it spicier
  9. Mix in the Avocado and refrigerate an hour before serving
  10. Serve with Tortilla Chips
  11. Enjoy!

If you are using cooked shrimp then omit the first 4 steps. You can use clam juice instead of shrimp water to mix in the cocktail
