Skillet Pork Chops with Apples and Onions

These Skillet Pork Chops with Apples and Onions are ready in about 30 minutes! Everything cooks in one skillet which makes for easy cleanup as well!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Bone in Pork Chops about 1 1/2 inches thick
  • Sea Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Oil for frying pan with a high smoke point, I used Corn Oil
  • 1/2 Red Onion sliced
  • 2 Fugi or Honey Crisp Apples sliced thick
  • 2 Cloves Minced Garlic
  • 1/4 Cup Red Cooking Wine
  • 1/2 Cup Vegetable Broth
  • 1 tsp Dijon

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle a bit of Sea Salt and Pepper over both sides of the Pork Chops
  2. Add enough Oil to a 12 inch cast iron skillet to cover the bottom
  3. Heat skillet over med/high heat
  4. When oil is hot add the Pork Chops and cook 4 minutes each side or until it has a nice sear
  5. Remove Chops and set aside
  6. Add Onions, Apples and Garlic to the skillet
  7. Cook 6-8 minutes
  8. Add Red Wine to deglaze about 1-2 minutes
  9. Stir in Broth and Mustard
  10. Add Chops, cover and cook 4-8 minutes or until the internal temp is 145F
  11. Remove from heat and let it rest 5 minutes before serving
  12. Enjoy!
