The weekend is here, who’s ready for a Cocktail! After my recent trip to the Florida Keys, I’ve been inspired to create some of the yummy cocktails I tasted down there. I created Mason Jar Mojitos 4 ways!
When I first arrived in Key West, I immediately consumed everything that had Key Lime in it.
Everything from the Key Lime Pie to the Key Lime Cocktails.
My favorite drink had to be the Key Lime Mojitos I had there. I talked to the bartender a bit and asked him how he made this. He said they just added Key Lime Juice to it. So simple, why didn’t I think of this idea before?!
Once I got back home from my trip, I went to the grocery store and purchased a ton of Key Limes. Now don’t worry if your store doesn’t have Key Limes, or if you don’t feel like squeezing the juice out of all these little buggers, you can purchase Key Lime Juice – Yes! I found this in the alcohol mix section near the bottles of Simple Syrup.
Oh and BTW I’ll be doing a few travel posts on my Florida Keys adventures, so stay tuned!
Key Lime Mojito
Ingredients:
- 1 Lime cut into 4 wedges
- 2 tsp Simple Syrup
- 6 fresh Mint leaves
- Ice
- 1 1/2 oz White Rum
- 2 tsp Key Lime Juice
- Splash of Club Soda
Add Limes, Simple Syrup, and Mint leaves to Mason Jar Mug. Muddle until Limes create juice in the bottom of the mug. Fill mug with ice, add Rum, Key Lime Juice, top with a splash of Club Soda and stir. Enjoy responsibly!
My next inspired Cocktail was this Coconut Mojito.
I love everything with Coconut in it!
I used two different kinds of Rum for this one, White Rum and Coconut Rum.
Now let’s talk about Rum for just a second. I highly recommend getting top shelf Rum, it’s totally worth splurging the extra money on, because you will get a much better flavored drink. Believe me, I’ve had cheap Rum before and it makes all the difference!
My new favorite Rum as of lately is Kenny Chesney’s Rum line called Blue Chair. I used his White Rum and Coconut Rum for this drink.
This one is so refreshing on a hot summer day!

Then there’s the Pineapple Mojito, which has a light tropical flare.
Adding fresh Pineapple juice to this Mojito is absolutely delish!
It has just the right amount of sweetness without being too sweet. It has the perfect balance of flavor between the Lime and the Pineapple.

Last but not least is the Classic Mojito.
When I first started drinking Mojitos, this was what I started with. I never even knew there were so many different ways to make Mojitos until I started traveling and visiting different bars. I guess I needed to get out more!
This is still my favorite go-to Mojito if I don’t have any Key Limes or Pineapple on hand.
But Limes…Yes I always have Limes on hand. Not just for drinks, I mean I make other stuff with them too…geez! 🙂
If you give any of these a try, leave a comment below! It’s super helpful to me and other readers!
