The BEST homemade Spicy Bloody Mary Mix (gluten free)! This has such a great kick and you can make it as spicy as you want! Perfect for any brunch, holiday meal, game day or any day!
When I went gluten free several years ago I found out that not all Bloody Mary mix was gluten free. I mean it didn’t even dawn on me until after ordering them a few times in different restaurants and I wondered why I felt so sick for a few days.
I went to my local grocery store and started reading the labels of all the Bloody Mary mixes and found out most of them have wheat as an ingredient.
I decided to start making my own mix at home without the gluten so now I can still enjoy a fabulous brunch with a Bloody!
Here’s what you need to make these:
- 2 1/2 cups Tomato Juice
- 1/3 cup Worcestershire Sauce (not all brands are gluten free so check the label, I used Lea & Perrins which is gluten free)
- 1 tsp Pickle Juice
- 1 Tbs Tabasco
- 1/2 tsp Celery Salt
- 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
Just mix all of the ingredients together in a large mason jar or something similar that has an air tight lid and refrigerate up to 2-3 weeks. Just make sure to shake it well before pouring as the seasonings will fall to the bottom.
If you’re not big on spice, you could leave the Tabasco out, or use less. I always suggest to start with a little bit at a time and taste until you get your preferred taste.
I like to make my Bloodys into a meal and put as many garnishes as I can fit in my glass, lol! Here are some of my favorites below, I like to mix and match with different combos of these.
- Olives
- Pickles
- Cucumber
- Celery
- Pepperoncini
- Pepper Jack Cheese
- Beef or Turkey Sticks
- Lemon or Lime wedges
- Bacon
- Cooked Shrimp
The possibilities are truly endless!
