Thank you Victoria Fine Foods for sponsoring this post. Victoria Pasta Sauce is committed to “Ingredients Come First®!

Looking for a quick and easy weeknight dinner? Try this Mussels Fra Diavolo with Zucchini Noodles! It’s loaded with so much flavor and cooks in less than 20 minutes!

Mussels Fra Diavolo with Zucchini Noodles

If you’ve never had Fra Diavolo before then you are in for a treat! It is a spicy tomato sauce for pasta or seafood, made with olive oil, crushed red pepper, garlic, onion, and basil.

The name Fra Diavolo actually means ‘Brother Devil’ in Italian, I found that so interesting! I just love learning the history of how foods in different cultures get their name.

I chose to use Mussels and Zucchini Noodles instead of traditional pasta to lighten this meal up a bit. If you are not a fan of Mussels, you could sub them out with your favorite seafood like Shrimp etc.

Now I’m a busy mom always on the go, so when I don’t have time to make my sauces from scratch I choose to use Victoria Pasta Sauce.

I love using Victoria Pasta Sauce. Each of their premium pasta sauces are slow kettle-cooked to enhance the flavors of fresh ingredients that get that truly homemade taste. They use 100 percent Italian tomatoes produced in its original Brooklyn plant, established in 1929.

Victoria Pasta Sauce is committed to “Ingredients Come First!” The sauce consists of simple ingredients like 100 percent Italian tomatoes, imported olive oil, fresh garlic, fresh basil and fresh onions, with no preservatives, water or added sugar/ salt.

They are definitely better than any other pasta sauce brand I’ve ever had. Oh and before I forget, here is where you can find their sauces —–> Store Locator

They have a pasta sauce called Fra Diavolo that is absolutely amazing, which of course I used to make this recipe. The first bite I took my mouth was bursting with flavor!

My son helped me make this. I love it whenever he has time to help me cook dinner, it just brings a feeling of togetherness. I’ve got to get all the together time I can with him before he’s off to college next fall!

Yikes, where does the time go?! Anyhoo… let’s get into making this recipe!

Mussels Fra Diavolo with Zucchini Noodles

Here’s what you need to make this:

  • 2 lbs Frozen Cooked Mussels (if using fresh Mussels see notes in the recipe card)
  • 1 24oz Jar of Victoria’s Fra Diavolo Sauce
  • 2 12oz Bags of Green Giant Veggie Spirals
  • Fresh Basil

That’s it! Such minimal ingredients, I love it!

In a large saucepan add Mussels and pour the jar of Victoria’sFra Diavolo Sauce over them. Cover and cook on med/high heat until bubbly. Once the sauce is bubbly, cook the Mussels 8-12 minutes.

While Mussels are cooking, heat the Green Giant Veggie Spirals as directed on the package.

Once the Mussels are heated through, drain the Veggie Spirals and add them to the pan. Mix everything together and serve immediately.

Top with fresh Basil and proceed to chow down on all this deliciousness!
