This Blackberry Banana Kale Smoothie is a great way to get your greens in (or to sneak them in for your kids like I did)! Trust me they won’t even know there’s Kale in there! At least my son didn’t. 🙂
So I’m getting ready to go to my first Food Blogger Conference, which I’m super stoked about!
3 years ago I had no idea what a food blogger was. I just simply loved cooking and traveling. I would share my recipes on my personal FB and probably annoyed half of my friends that weren’t foodies. Wait. What? How can anyone not be a foodie? I just don’t understand.
I just wanted to create a platform in which I could share my recipes, travel advice, and a little bit of my sometimes crazy life.
I’ve always had an entrepreneur mind set, so I decided to do some research on how to incorporate a hobby of cooking and traveling into a business. Well here I am over 2 years into the blog…WOW! I love sharing with you guys my recipes and my travel adventures, and I’m so grateful you keep coming back to my blog and reading my creations! You Guys Rock!
So we’re getting ready to leave for the airport tomorrow and I have…ZERO things packed in my suitcase. In fact as I’m writing this I still have a huge long list of things to do before leaving.
The International Food Blogger Conference that I’m going to is in Sacramento, CA. I have never been to Cali, it’s seriously been on my bucket list since I was a little girl with dreams of moving from Minnesota to California. Somehow I ended up moving to Florida instead, Ha! To be perfectly honest, I chose Florida over California because of cost of living and taxes. Yep.
If you guys want to learn more about food blogging, or to see what I’m up to in Cali, I’ll be posting my adventures in Snapchat (Username —–> Tastefulventure). Does anyone else Snapchat here? I just started this a few months ago, and I find it weirdly addicting. Not as addicting as Pokemon Go…NO…I’ve never actually played this.
Ok so now we’re wayyyy off track…squirrel!
Let’s get back to this Blackberry Banana Kale Smoothie!
I had some leftover Blackberries that I needed to eat up, and some bananas that were so ripe they were on the verge of being turned into banana bread (which at this point I don’t have time for), or mixing them in a smoothie.
Hmmm, let’s see what else can I throw in this smoothie…Kale yes Kale! The super food, the gold of the green leafy vegetables! I <3 Kale! 🙂 Plus it’s been sitting in my fridge and needs to be eaten.
So while my son is in his room playing video games, I decided to make this stealth like smoothie…hahaha!
He comes out of his room and I give him his smoothie to drink and he drinks it in like 2 seconds! Score! It’s always a great feeling when you can give your kid something super healthy and they have no idea that you just gave them liquid gold (that’s what I like to call Kale when I use it for juicing or smoothies…liquid gold). 🙂
If you try this recipe let me know what you think by leaving a comment below! It’s super helpful to me and other readers!
Cheers foodie friends!
