How To Make Honey Apple Cider Vinaigrette, only 5 ingredients! This will be your new go-to salad dressing!

My new favorite salad dressing as of lately has been this Honey Apple Cider Vinaigrette. This only requires 5 ingredients that you probably already have on hand and is so delicious!

As I’m writing this, I’m getting prepared to evacuate my home for a few days. Hurricane Matthew is in the Caribbean right now near the Bahamas and is predicted to hit North East Florida by Friday. It’s a strong one and I’m not going to stick around to ride it out.

I have a ‘hurricane stash’ with plenty of water, flashlights, radio, batteries, along with dry foods (as in 20 cans of tuna fish) and plenty of snacks. But right now this hurricane is at a category 4 or was it 3, I don’t know it keeps changing and they are predicting it’ll get stronger.

Since I live about 10 minutes from the beach, I’m just not going to mess with it. I’m packing up the car, taking my son, and my cat on a 6 hour road trip. Traveling with a cat is always fun…said no one ever. 😛

So now I’m just digging through the fridge trying to use up any perishables. I have enough veggies to make a salad, so this Honey Apple Cider Vinegar will go perfectly with it!

Here’s what you need to make this yummy dressing…

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Apple Cider Vinegar

Honey

Sea Salt

Pepper

See, it’s that easy!

Here’s what I love about this Honey Apple Cider Vinaigrette dressing:

  • The flavor is crisp and slightly creamy with subtly sweet taste
  • It’s super easy to make
  • It’s so much cheaper to make your own salad dressing
  • It has healthy all natural ingredients (no weird ingredients that you can’t pronounce that are normally in store bought dressings)

This salad dressing goes great with my Fall Harvest Salad with Goji Berries or my Warm Quinoa Sweet Potato Kale Salad. 🙂

Ok, I’m going to go back to packing so I can get out before this storm comes! I’ll also be Snapchatting throughout my journey if you want to come and hang out with me virtually, I know that sounds weird but it’s a lot of fun! (Snapchat Username ——-> Tastefulventure)

My sister makes a similar recipe which I tried while visiting her over the Christmas holiday but hers came out creamier than min when I tried it. I followed your recipe and I’m not sure why but I still didn’t get the creaminess I wanted, unless I measured wrong since I was trying for no clean up and did everything by eye. Any suggestion which ingredient I need to add a bit more creaminess to this vinaigrette? Thanks, this is my new go to salad dressing!

Hi Deborah, This salad dressing was made to be slightly creamy. I’m not sure what your consistency was since you didn’t pre measure anything. You could always add more Honey to make it thicker if you wanted. Glad you like it! 🙂

Do you think this dressing would work with cold/room temp asparagus? If so, not sure if I should roast the asparagus or blanch? Asparagus is one of the veggies I’m taking to a Seder on Monday. I wanted one room temp dish that doesn’t require heating – for ease. I think apple cider vinegar is the only Passover friendly vinegar I can use. And no mustard. Lots of vinaigrette recipes with mustard. Thanks.

If you have leftover dressing you can refrigerate this for up to 5 days.

Why 5 days? I don’t see anything that would go bad?

Love this❤️ Why can it only be refrigerated for 5 days. I didn’t read that part and I used the dressing refrigerated after a month or more.

One of the most enjoyable and easy to make dressings I have ever had! Not a fan of vinaigrette’s but this is now my go to dressing from here on out! I love the simple healthy ingredients. To me less is always best.

Thank you so much for the great recipe and easy to follow instructions.

Very nice recipe, but I needed a little tang so I added a few splashes of balsamic vinaigrette. Totally yummy!

I’m trying this dressing today and know we will have leftovers. Is it essential that it be refrigerated? The only thing different from my usual drawing is the honey.
If I don’t refrigerate it, how many days can it stay out?
    Thanks

Hi JoAnne, I would recommend refrigerating it. When you’re ready to use it again just bring it to room temperature and shake well.

Love, love, love this recipe!! So simple and delicious!!
I only use about half of the recommended Sea Salt but I do add a small amount of dried Basil Flakes as I love the flavor it gives to the vinaigrette!
Thank you so much for sharing a recipe that is absolutely yummy and easy and quick to make!! ❤️?
