I’ve been Blanching Collard Greens lately and have been using them as healthy wraps for my lunches. So I decided to put together a little step by step on How To Blanch Collard Greens today! These make a great Low Carb, Gluten Free alternative to traditional tortilla wraps.

How To Blanch Collard Greens ~ This is so easy and takes less than 5 minutes to do. These are perfect for creating healthy wraps, etc.

When you buy Collard Greens in the store or at the farmers market, they usually come in a huge bunch and are relatively cheap.

What to do with all of those Collard Greens? Blanch them!

This is super easy, it took less than 10 minutes out of my day to prepare these, and now I have delicious healthy wraps that I can fill with whatever I feel like!

These are great for meal prepping your lunches for the week too! Like using them for these yummy Collard Green Veggie Wraps or these Collard Green Sushi Rolls with Spicy Tuna!

First wash the Collard Greens.

Then cut off the thick stem at the base of the leaf.

Use a small knife to trim the thick spine down the middle of the leaf.

Cut it so the spine is as flat as can be with the leaf.

Add 1 Collard leaf at a time to the simmering water, holding the leaf down gently with a tongs so that leaf is totally submerged in water.

Simmer each leaf 30-60 seconds. Don’t go any longer or the leaf will become more flimsy and will tend to rip.

Submerge leaf for 10 seconds in ice bath.
