Can we talk about how much I love this Healthy Tahini Chocolate Smoothie right now?! This has a creamy, nutty taste that is so unique and delicious.
I’m so addicted that I’ve been having this every morning for breakfast lately! Oh yeah, did I mention it’s Dairy Free? Yessss!
Do you remember a few weeks ago when I made this Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie? Well step on over Peanut Butter, Tahini is taking over!
I’ve been on a complete Chocolate kick lately. I have no idea why, maybe it’s stress, maybe it’s hormones, or maybe it’s just a totally natural thing that I should just go with. Ok I like the latter.
The next best thing to Chocolate for me is a Peanut Butter/Chocolate combo. But when I opened the cupboard this morning to grab a jar of Peanut Butter to add in to my favorite smoothie, all I found was an empty jar. Who does that? Who puts an empty jar back in the cupboard? Ah the joys of having teenagers in the house.
So I decided to experiment a little and add some Tahini to my Chocolate Smoothie.
All I can say is… Whoa!
This was sooo delicious! I mean, better than Peanut Butter, Yes!
The Tahini adds such a unique nutty flavor that’s kind of like Peanut Butter, but different. I know that’s probably not the best description, but honestly I can’t think of how else to describe it. Just try it and you will see what I mean. 🙂
Another great thing about Tahini is that it’s lower in Carbs than Peanut Butter and it’s Paleo. I don’t follow a Paleo diet or anything, but I do make Paleo meals from time to time just to mix things up and stay on a healthier track.
So along with the Tahini, add in Raw Organic Cacao Powder, some frozen Bananas, and Medjool Dates for a bit of sweetness.
Add all of the above ingredients to some Coconut Milk, or whatever your favorite non-dairy milk may be, blend up, and serve!

Healthy Tahini Chocolate Smoothie

- 2 cups Unsweetened Coconut Milk
- 2 frozen Banana slices
- 4 pitted Medjool Dates
- 2 Tbs Raw Cacao Powder
- 2 Tbs Tahini
- Add all ingredients to a high speed blender and blend for 30 seconds.
- Serve and Enjoy!
