This morning I decided to make a Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie with Flaxseed Meal. I love smoothies for breakfast. I also love peanut butter and bananas, they just go together soooo good! I used to love eating toast with peanut butter and bananas on it, but since going Gluten Free I needed to find new ways to savor my peanut butter/banana addiction.
I try to mostly do smoothies for breakfast during the week. Smoothies are so healthy and if enough of the right ingredients go into it, it makes for a great meal that will fill you up until lunch time. Plus it’s super easy to make. This literally took me about 5 minutes to make.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret…I’ve been stuck in a smoothie rut though lately. I keep making the same Blueberry Oatmeal Smoothie every day, which I totally love, but I really need some variety.
So today I decided to revamp an old post of mine so I could redo the photos. The original photos for this smoothie were just awful. When I first started this blog I didn’t have a real camera. I was only using my iPhone to take all of my food pictures with…I know, what was I thinking?! But it’s all I had, and they say the best camera is the one you have on you right?! Lets just say I have ALOT of photos/posts to redo, like a year and a half of them…”Sigh”. So if you come across some very small bad pictures in my old posts, please don’t judge. They will be fixed, eventually. 🙂
Ok let’s get back to this smoothie recipe!
I added Flaxseed Meal to this smoothie to get my Omega-3s in!
Flaxseed Meal is so great, you can add it to smoothies, pancakes, muffins, cookies, and even use it as an egg substitute!
Here’s what I love about this smoothie:
-It’s rich and creamy peanut buttery taste
-You get plenty of fiber and Omega 3s by adding Flaxseed Meal
-It’s a great breakfast to have pre-workout, it will give you lots of energy!
-This only takes 5 minutes to make, woohoo!

- 1 cup Unsweetened Coconut Milk
- 2 Tbsp Peanut Butter
- 2 Bananas
- 2 Tbsp ground Flaxseed Meal
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth.
