This Spiced Pear Bellini is so light, refreshing, and festive! This is a super easy cocktail to make and is so versatile. You could have this for Brunch, with Appetizers, or even Dessert!
Ok so I’m a little late to the party, I had never heard of a Bellini until just recently when I was out to brunch.
If you’re unfamiliar like me, a Bellini is a cocktail that was invented in Venice, Italy sometime between 1934-1948. The founder, Giuseppe Cipriani and owner of Harry’s Bar named the drink Bellini because of its unique pink color of the toga of a saint in a painting by 15th-century Venetian artist Giovanni Bellini. Thanks Wikipedia!
There you go, that’s my nerdiness input for today. 🙂 I just always find it fascinating to learn how food and drinks originated.
A traditional Bellini is made with Procecco and pureed White Peaches. But since I’m not a huge fan of Peaches, I decided to create my own Bellini concoction today!
I used canned Pears for this recipe because they are softer to puree, and put them in the blender for a few seconds until they were the right consistency.
Next I took a Lime Wedge and rimmed my flute glasses. Then dipped the rims in Sugar and Cinnamon.
I spooned a little bit of the Pear puree into each glass, then added a couple of teaspoons of the Pear juice from the can.
Next step… pour the Prosecco!!!
Now you want to pour the Prosecco slowly and stop 3/4 of the way before it gets to the top, otherwise you’ll have a fizzy overflow.
And we wouldn’t want to waste any alcohol right?!
Go ahead and sip responsibly away my friends!
Let me tell you, each sip mixed with a little bit of the Sugar and Cinnamon… Whoa! It was a total tastebud awakening!
Definitely feeling festive with this drink. In fact I think I’m going to serve it for brunch on New Year’s Day along with a Smoked Salmon Brunch Board!

Cheers!
