These Skillet Pork Chops with Apples and Onions are ready in about 30 minutes! Everything cooks in one skillet which makes for easy cleanup as well!
I still can’t believe it’s the beginning of October already. I mean, where did September go? Time seems to be going way too fast for me.
I love Fall though, it’s definitely one of my favorite seasons. The humidity has finally dropped here in Florida and I can finally go outside and not sweat to death.
I also love cooking more Fall inspired recipes. This is also my favorite foodie season:)
I’m into everything Pumpkin, Apples, and comfort food right now. I’m especially digging this Skillet Pork Chops with Apples and Onions that I made the other day.
It’s a combo of a little bit of sweet with a whole lot of savory.
To make this all you need is:
- 2 Bone in Pork Chops about 1 1/2 inches thick
- Sea Salt
- Black Pepper
- Oil for frying pan with a high smoke point, I used Corn Oil
- 1/2 Red Onion sliced
- 2 Fugi or Honey Crisp Apples sliced thick
- 2 Cloves Minced Garlic
- 1/4 Cup Red Cooking Wine
- 1/2 Cup Vegetable Broth
- 1 tsp Dijon
Start by sprinkling a bit of Sea Salt and Pepper over both sides of the Pork Chops. Then add enough Oil to a 12 inch cast iron skillet to cover the bottom.
Heat the skillet over med/high heat. When oil is hot add the Pork Chops and cook 4 minutes each side or until it has a nice sear. Remove the Chops and set aside.
Add the Onions, Apples and Garlic to the skillet. Cook 6-8 minutes. Add Red Wine to deglaze about 1-2 minutes. Then stir in Broth and Mustard.
Add Chops back to the skillet, cover and cook 4-8 minutes or until the internal temp is 145F. Remove from heat and let it rest 5 minutes before serving.
I hope you love these Skillet Pork Chops with Apples and Onions as much as we did! It’s:
- Easy to make
- Hearty
- Sweet
- Savory
- and so Incredibly Delicious
