This Parmesan Dill Salmon Burger with Garlic Aioli has such an amazing flavor, and is super easy to make! We made this version Gluten Free!
Ok you guys, I love a good burger, especially if it’s a seafood burger like this Parmesan Dill Salmon Burger with Garlic Aioli. Mmmmm… Delicious!
This is such a healthy and hearty burger that will leave you wanting more…
Now I totally love a good burger (I quit eating beef 4 years ago for digestive reasons), but I still crave a good hearty burger. I usually substitute my burger craving with a veggie burger, but I’m always in search of something new to try.
I’ve just recently discovered Salmon Burgers. Actually, I started buying the frozen Salmon Burgers from my local grocer, BUT I was not happy with the taste those burgers had. They always tasted so ‘fishy’, yes I know Salmon is fish, but here’s a tip: your fish should not taste ‘fishy’ in a bad way. If it smells and tastes funny to you, then don’t eat it.
So one day I was wandering down the aisle in the grocery store where the canned Salmon and Tuna is, and I saw some Wild Alaskan Salmon on sale. I thought, hmmm I should try making my own Salmon Burgers!
I basically just threw together some ingredients that I already had in my fridge into this Salmon Burger and it turned out amazing! My 13 year old son absolutely LOVES these Salmon Burgers and is constantly asking me to make more!
So here’s the scoop for making these burgers, all you need is a can of Premium Wild Salmon. I recommend premium canned Salmon, if you opt for something cheaper to save money you will understand why I recommend spending the extra dollar to get the premium kind.
You see, canned Salmon is not very appealing. I’m not going to lie, if you select the cheaper brands which I have done in the past, you get yucky boney parts of Salmon. If you get the premium brand, then you will get more meaty chunks of Salmon that look and smell much better. Trust me, don’t go cheap on this one. I mean really, a can of premium Salmon is really only around $3-4 dollars per can. You can get 2 HUGE Salmon Burgers out of 1 can with this recipe. If you look at it that way, it’s only around $2 per burger. Wow! I don’t think you can get a gourmet Salmon Burger of this quality in any restaurant for that price! Oh, and might I mention that before this I spent over $12 on a box of 4 frozen Salmon patties that tasted aweful? Ok, you do the math! 🙂
The basic ingredients for making this Salmon Burger is of course Salmon, 1 Egg, 1 Shallot finely chopped, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan Cheese, 1/4 cup Gluten Free Panko, juice from 1/2 a Lemon, 1 tsp Dill Weed, and 2 Tbs Olive Oil.
Once you open your can of Salmon, sift through it and pick out any bones or skin that you don’t want in your burger. If you’re into that, by all means cook it all up!
Put the Salmon in a bowl and add the egg, shallot, parmesan, panko, lemon, and dill weed. Then mix well and form into patties.
Heat the Olive Oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat, then add the patties and cook 3-4 minutes each side.
See, this is easy-peasy! In under 10 minutes your gourmet meal is DONE! 🙂
Now, the Garlic Aioli is a special sauce that I like to add to these Salmon Burgers that kind of kicks them up a notch. This sauce is the bomb, seriously it tastes so amazing with these Salmon Burgers!
This Garlic Aioli sauce literally only takes 5 minutes to whip up! Who knew a gourmet tasting meal could be so easy! Yessss! 🙂
